Animal rescuer Kaley Carlyle fell in love with Chupey as soon as she laid eyes on him. She knew he was a little bit different, but that only made her love him even more. She told the Metro:
"A woman who had previously brought me a litter of puppies which had seizures came back to me again with another litter of three puppies – two were healthy and one was really different and looked a bit like a wolf."
A pup that never stops smiling
The wolf-dog turned out to be Chupey and given everything he'd been through, Kaley couldn't believe he was still smiling.
She took the pup to a vet who discovered a small birth defect. Chupey's bottom lips won't stretch over his teeth, leaving him with a permanent (and super-cute) grin.
But Chupey's dog mum quickly found out that her new fur baby is just as happy on the inside as he looks on the outside:
"My favourite thing about Chupey is his attitude – he always wants to be part of what you're doing and does a little shimmy dance when he's excited."
Kaley continued:
"He's also insanely cuddly – if you get out a blanket he comes running straight away and will bark at you until you let him under."
A smile to lift any mood
Chupey even has his own Instagram page which he uses to brighten up his thousands of followers with that infectious little expression.
