It is in Costa Rica that this strange discovery took place.
A mobile phone traffic
For some time now, the Costa Rican authorities had been having doubts that prisoners smuggled phones in their prison cells. However, prisoners are not allowed to have mobile phones in their cells and their calls are all controlled.
Prison guards, finally realised that there was a cell phone traffic that allowed inmates to plan and supervise their criminal projects even behind bars.
In the La Reforma prison in San Rafael de Alajuela, it was a very special mule who is infiltrated behind bars to deliver his parcels.
The discovery of the smuggler
The mule in question was… a CAT! Transformed into a smuggler of mobile phones by an outside accomplice, the tomcat wandered around with a bag on his back. He was doing his little business until one day, one of the prison guards noticed him, just before he slipped into the prison sewers.
After 5 hours of research, the prison guards managed to catch the animal and find out he was carrying two phones, a charger and SIM cards in his little backpack.
This is a criminal cat!
