The Argos Petface Cooling Coat coat comes in small and medium sizes and is available now from £12.99-£16.99. These lightweight, comfy dog coats are also available through online retailers, including Amazon.
This summers "coolest" fashion accessory
The science behind the new accessories is pretty simple. Pet owners submerge the coats in a bowl of cold water, which then absorbs all the icy goodness. They then squeeze out excess liquid before wrapping it around their panting pooch.
I don't suppose they come in a medium, human-sized? https://t.co/edP0u2bPfQ— Amber Bridger ? (@AmBam97) July 25, 2019
The cooling coats fit across the dogs back with straps running underneath the belly.
They're set to provide some much welcome relief as dogs continue to struggle with rising temperatures.
We've already seen the hottest day of the year so far, and many experts believe we're set to see that record smashed again very soon.
The hot weather is causing problems for dogs and their humans all over the UK, with several cases of heat exhaustion reported by animal hospitals.
Earlier this week, one dog nearly died from overheating following a walk in a nearby park. The friendly pooch had gotten overexcited while playing with some small children and this short burst of activity caused him to collapse after returning home.
Thankfully, vets at the doggy emergency room were able to bring his temperature back down to a safe level.
Take extra care during the summer months
Owners are advised to take plenty of water for their pups during walkies, and to avoid the hottest part of the day. Early morning and late evening tend to be much cooler, making them the perfect time for summer strolls.
And if your furry friend needs a little extra help keeping its cool over the next few months, then it's time to take yourself for walkies down to your local Argos store!
