It’s a well-known fact that Meghan and Harry have a huge passion for rescue dogs. Now they are considering adopting another dog to grow up with their young son, Archie.

Meghan and Harry may be new mum and dad to baby Archie, but they are already experienced dog parents. They have 2 pooches in the household, Meghan Markle’s rescue Beagle named Guy, who she brought to the UK with her, and their second dog they adopted together, a Labrador. This second rescued dog joined their family during the summer of 2018.
Rescue dogs are a massive passion
Meghan Markle recently became royal patron of the Mayhew, a UK animal welfare charity. On a visit, just before baby Archie arrived on the scene, Meghan toured the Mayhew centre and admitted that they really couldn’t fit any more dogs into their household, at least until the baby arrived.

How do Meghan and Harry’s fur babies get along with their new human sibling?
Although the Sussex’s family circumstances aren’t documented, both Beagles and Labradors are known to be brilliant around babies and young children. Both breeds are playful, easy to train and very loyal dogs and it’s clear that Meghan will have implemented special introductions to the baby to make sure that they bond together.
Meghan wants to adopt a new rescue dog as a playmate for Archie
Following Archie’s christening, The Duke and Duchess of Sussex are looking to tour canine rescue facilities near Windsor, in their search for a new loyal pal for their son. Rescue dogs have a great appeal for the royal couple and obviously they would prefer to adopt a dog rather than buy a puppy. Meghan is hoping for a dog that will grow up with Archie, so that they can form a joyous and loyal bond, just as she has with her much loved rescue dogs.
