The premiere of the long-awaited animated movie was being celebrated last night, in the heart of Paris. But this wasn’t just any premiere event. If you happened to walk by the Max Linder Panorama theatre last night, you would’ve seen a large crowd of people…and their dogs!

Yes, the premiere was to be enjoyed by canines too! Pets of all shapes and sizes sat back in their chairs and enjoyed the show…

60 dogs in total attended the event. The majority were famous Instagram stars, but others were also the movie characters’ doppelgangers!

Indeed, you may have noticed a little Jack Russell strongly resembling lead ‘actor’ Max, a chubby kitty resembling Chloe the sarcastic feline, and even a white rabbit resembling crazy Snowball.

Pet-friendly event

Everything about the event was centred around the stars – and yes, we’re still talking about pets here.

There was a photo op made to look like a New York apartment, where owners were free to sit and pose with their four-legged friends!

There was also a ‘Kibble Bar’ where dogs could come pick up their little snack, alongside their owners who came to pick up their popcorn (which was, of course, served in dog bowls).

Each dog had an assigned seat in the theatre, covered in a comfy blanket, where they could lie down and chill out while watching the sequel.

Some dogs were unimpressed by the show and fell fast asleep in their cosy seats while others couldn’t help but bark along with their favourite on-screen characters!

A night to remember

The event was a blast – and surprisingly, it wasn’t as barking mad as one might’ve expected! The movie was in one word, HILARIOUS – especially if you are familiar with the trials and tribulations of owning a pet.

The movie has been out in the UK for almost a month now, so if you haven’t had the chance to see it yet, we strongly recommend you do! Check out the trailer below!
