As two babies living on the streets, they were cold and weak… but having each other gave them their strength. Now, this puppy and kitten duo hope to be together forever!

A tiny kitten and puppy were found on the streets of Spokane in Washington, USA. Despite their tiny size and less-than-ideal living conditions, the pair had one thing which gave them hope: each other.

Friends furever

The Spokane County Regional Animal Protection Service (SCRAPS) took in the bonded duo after a couple discovered they were homeless.

Speaking to LoveMeow, Hava from SCRAPS said: "Sally (the pup) had a fish hook in her mouth so we had to take her to Pet Emergency Clinic to get it out. Other than that, they were healthy from what we could tell when they came in."

Shelter staff decided to house the babies in separate kennels - after all, separating cats and dogs is standard protocol. But it didn’t take long for staff to realise that the friends needed each other’s companionship - within minutes, the cries began.

But as soon as the little ones were put in the same kennel, they were happy again. Harry the kitty laid on top of Sally the pup and immediately began purring. From that moment, they spent their time at the centre cuddled up together.

But will they find their together-forever home?

We bet you’ve been waiting to find out what happened to the feline/canine besties. Well, we can confirm that the adorable pair will officially be together forever!

A month after their initial rescue, a member of staff at the centre decided she’d fallen in love with the pair and decided to adopt them both.

Now, they’ll be in each other’s company for the rest of their lives. Despite their difference in species, their bond is literally unbreakable. Simply adorable, huh?
