The animal rescuers at the Tierheim Arche Noah in Brinkum, Germany, have already seen this type of case too often already. But this incident differs from the others in the most curious and devastating way.
Just an empty box
On the night of June 1st to 2nd, an orange and black shoebox is placed in front of Noah’s Ark shelter. The next morning, upon arriving at the shelter, one of the members of staff discovers said box and opens it to see what’s inside. Sadly, all he sees is grass and daisies…any animal that might’ve been inside was long gone.
The box was slightly open one side, so it was obvious an animal had broken out and run away. Without any help, this animal’s chances of survival are quite meagre.
Shelter’s emotional post goes viral
In their anger, the shelter decided to post quite an emotional message on Facebook:
“Whoever thought it was a good idea to dump the animal at the shelter has now signed his death sentence. What sounds harsh, unfortunately, is reality.”
Animal shelters understand circumstances change and sometimes, it is better, even for the animal’s own welfare, that it is taken into a different home. While this is appropriate, dumping an animal in a random place without informing an animal rescue group, is cruel and unnecessary.
Hopefully, the tiny animal will be found by a kind Samaritan and brought back to the shelter in a safer way.
