At midnight, the phone rings at the Thurgau Police station. Though versatile in their work, the officers will definitely remember this call as one of their most unusual.

Baby animals love to explore their surroundings, and we, of course, enjoy their clumsy excursions, which are usually VERY cute. But one such excursion took a terribly dramatic turn last week in Thurgau, Switzerland.
A call for help in the middle of the night
When the police picked up the phone, they sensed the caller was in great distress, so the police didn’t hesitate to drive out to him right away. When they arrived at his house, they couldn’t believe their eyes.
As they approached the ‘crime scene’ (the dishwasher), they discovered a tiny velvet paw protruding from the narrow gap directly under the dishwasher door. It was a desperate attempt by the tiny animal to liberate itself.
The animal had most likely gone to explore the kitchen and noticed the dark gap between the dishwasher and the floor. Intrigued, he simply wanted to take a closer look, and so ventured into the gap. Sadly, while the kitten was able to wriggle his way in, he became completely stuck, and could not find a way out!
Police officers become animal rescuers
The helpless pet owners simply didn’t know what to do. They were very relieved when the officers arrived and began to gently dismantle the dishwasher with the help of a few tools. In just a few minutes, the tiny kitten was released from his unlikely prison, and went back to living a normal kitten life, never again to explore the dishwasher…
The Thurgau police is very proud of this rescue mission, and they should be!
