Just a month after seven puppies were rescued from a rubbish bin in Coachella, another young puppy has been discovered in a dumpster with terrible burns on her body and a section of her tail cut off.

Pup with terrible injuries is rescued

A passer-by heard whimpering sounds coming from a dumpster outside a shopping centre at Avenue 50 and Harrison Street, in Coachella, California. When the person rummaged around in the rubbish, they discovered a tiny puppy, only a few weeks old, wrapped in a Walmart plastic bag. The puppy appeared to have horrific injuries. This kind person took the pup to a nearby jewellery store to ask for help, before the pup was taken for urgent medical treatment.

Puppy has life-changing injuries

The badly injured puppy was named Hope by the daughter of the lady who found her in the dumpster. The Animal Hope & Wellness Foundation in Sherman Oaks, examined the little pup and were shocked to discover her terrible injuries. Hope has been burned with either a metal object, possibly an iron, or with a caustic substance. She has obviously been assaulted and beaten and has had part of her tail cut off. The pup might never walk again as her legs are also badly crushed, however medical experts are sure the puppy will survive even though she has such horrific injuries.

Injured puppy needs intensive care nursing

Around-the-clock care is being given to this little puppy,  found in a dumpster, in the hope that she will recover. Staff at the Foundation are appealing for the public’s help to find out who did this despicable act. A reward of $10,000 was initially offered, but this has since increased to $20,000 after celebrities Joanna Krupa and Shannen Doherty both put forward $5000 each.

A GoFundMe page has been set up to help to pay for any medical treatment that Hope needs. So far, around $14,000 has been contributed to help this injured puppy.

The reward for information leading to the arrest of the person who burned and beat Hope, the 3 week old puppy - then threw her in a dumpster in Coachella has increased to $20,000. . Actress Shannen Doherty has contributed $5000 to the reward stating, “People who do these types of things to animals go on to hurt women and children, and need to be held accountable.” Model Joanna Krupa has offered an additional $5000, in an effort to bring about justice. We received a number of anonymous tips, and remained hopeful that the person responsible will be caught. Hope is currently at McGrath Veterinary under twenty four hour care. It is undetermined if she will ever walk again, but owner Brian McGrath is confident she will pull through and survive. The dumpster Hope was discarded in is two blocks down the street from where seven puppies were dumped just a few weeks prior in Coachella.
