Cats are well-known for finding warm, comfortable little snugs to do their snoozing. Radiators, comfy chairs, fireplaces, and the bottom of your wardrobe are just a few of your cat's favourite napping spots. However, for reasons that no-one can really explain, one cat decided to go for a snooze on a piano - and while his owner was playing it!
The hilarious video, which has over 4k views, shows the cat sleeping on the actual piano keys.
Its head and body bob up and down to the rhythm of the piano, but the cat still doesn't wake up.
The pianist then switches from some soothing classical music to some upbeat tunes, but none of them can awaken this sleeping cutie!
Cats are known for sleeping through most of the day. As nocturnal creatures, they become much more active during the night. Some of them can snooze for up to 16 hours a day, but cats are generally light sleepers.
Like many other animals, cats have an instinctual ability to wake up at the slightest sound. They can switch from being fast asleep to being ready for action in seconds. It's an important evolutionary trait designed to keep them safe from predators or rivals.
Such behaviours tend to diminish after a long period of domestication. However, it's unusual for them to disappear completely.
When you're this cute, you don't need to explain yourself
So what’s the real story behind the sleeping piano cat? Why didn’t he wake up? Why was he so tired? And why, of all places, would it sleep on top of a piano?
Well, nobody really knows! So let’s just appreciate the cuteness.
