Madeleine McCann went missing 12 years ago

The 3 year-old British girl, Madeleine, disappeared from her parents’ holiday apartment, at Waterside Village in the resort of Praia Da Luz in Portugal, on 3 May, 2007. Despite many reported sightings of her, and ongoing investigations, she has never been found. Her disappearance has raised great public interest and has continued to make the headlines after more than a decade.

Bombshell Netflix Documentary raises new theories

A new Netflix documentary, titled “The Disappearance of Madeleine McCann”, contains more than 120 hours of interviews from over 40 contributors with lots of previously recorded news footage. Some of the amazing video footage shows Eddie, one of the sniffer dogs who was taken to the holiday complex in Praia Da Luz.

Specially trained police dogs are on the case of missing Madeleine McCann

The English Springer Spaniel Eddie is trained to sniff out tiny traces of blood. Another sniffer dog, Keela, was also taken along to try to detect traces of corpse and blood odour at the apartment. Eddie was allowed into the rooms first, where he searched around the living room and bedroom, trying to trace the scent of blood. The video evidence shows the dog scouring all round the rooms, under the sofa and then into the parent’s bedroom, where he uses his senses to sniff under the beds.

The sniffer dog alerts his handler to the scent of blood

When the trained dog is working, he is quite tense and alert, and on the lookout for any signs of blood odour. Immediately Eddie approaches the wardrobe in the bedroom, then turns quickly round to his handler, Martin Grime, and barks loudly. This would normally signal that he has detected some blood or the scent of a human cadaver.

Keela, the second sniffer dog was also taken into the apartment. She also came to a halt at the same spots that Eddie had signalled the presence of human blood.

Both sniffer dogs were taken to the McCann’s’ hired car

During their holiday, the parents hired a silver Renault Scenic vehicle. Both sniffer dogs  were taken to the vehicle in an underground car park, where they alerted their handlers to the scent of corpse odour or human blood, outside the driver’s door and inside the boot. Eddie also notified that he had found the scent of blood on the stuffed animal, Cuddle Cat that Madeleine McCann took everywhere with her.

Kate and Gerry McCann are not under suspicion. Nothing has been proved from this evidence collected by the sniffer dogs and sadly, Madeleine McCann is still missing.
