The Muddy Dog Challenge is returning to Manchester this Septemeber, and it looks like it's going to be the muckiest one yet!
By Published on 9 Apr 2019
In case you don't know, the Muddy Dog Challenge is a fun and challenging obstacle course designed for pooches and their humans.
You can choose from 2.5km or a 5km course, and you'll need to wade, jump, and crawl your way to the end.
Getting down and dirty for a good cause
The Muddy Dog Challenge supports Battersea Animal Rescue centre and will raise some much-needed cash and awareness. Battersea has been caring for abandoned and stray animals for over 100 years. Their core mission is to never turn away an animal in need. They also provide vital medical care, temporary fostering services, and work tirelessly to find every animal a forever home.
Jasmine Monk is Battersea’s Challenge Events Officer. She said:
"We’re really looking forward to coming back to Greater Manchester for the Muddy Dog Challenge this year and welcoming lots of dogs and their owners from all walks of life. It’s a wonderful day of people coming together to raise money for thousands of animals looking for homes, as well as a memorable day out for all!"
The event will take place at Astley Hall, Altrincham, on the 14th and 15th of September. It kicks off at 10.00am and tickets range from £37.50 and £53.30. Dog owners can register by visiting the Muddy Dog website. But don't “paws-for-thought” for too long. There's sure to be loads of interest, and registration closes on Sunday, August 25 at 11:30 pm.
Muddy Dog goes on tour
And if sunny Manchester is a bit too far to travel, then don't worry; the Muddy Dog Challenge is going on tour all over the UK. Events are taking place in Cheltenham (June, 1), Nottingham (June, 29), Tunbridge Wells (September, 21), Newcastle (October, 5) and Leeds (October, 19).
