In South Carolina, a pup known as Callie was tossed out of a passenger truck. Thankfully, she quickly found her way into the loving arms of Heidi Schermerhorn-Wagner, founder of Boxer Butts & Other Mutts.
Animal control officers found this little pup wandering off of the road after witnesses spotted her getting thrown out of a truck, as if this puppy was a trash. That’s when Heidi Schermerhorn-Wagner got involved.
Heidi, founder of Boxer Butts & Other Mutts, found the dog’s photo and planned to pick her up on the same day. However, there was a five-day stray hold on the poor pup, even though she had been so inhumanely abandoned.
Little Callie went from being undesirable to adored in an instant. However, the organization’s vet mentioned that the dog had the most severe case of mange he’d ever seen. With serious wounds and a serious skin infection, it would take quite a while before she could start living a normal doggy life.
At the beginning, Callie would just go lie down, but after continuous medical treatment, she’s now capable of running around for a little bit. She’s just now learning how to be a real puppy.
Her fur is finally starting to grow back, and her shattered soul is beginning to heal. However, it’ll take at least four months before Callie is all set for adoption.
Who do you think will be the lucky family bringing this little soldier home?
